“We arrived late on the Saturday evening 9pm the reception took our payment then said they had over booked and didn't have a room for us, they eventually booked a room at the nearby Radisson and we were driven over by the concierge with another couple who were in the same situation. On arriving at the Radisson there was no booking for us 20 minutes to sort out then no breakfast ordered for us and the Hilton not answering the phone, over an hour of trying later they finally confirmed we should have breakfast. We rang the Hilton at 8am for them to send the concierge at 8.45 so we could pick our car up they said that they would send a taxi. 8.40 we were outside on a very cold frosty morning, 8.50 we rang again they said we will chase it up. 9.00am we flagged down a taxi and paid for it ourselves.”

“The shuttle bus came straightaway to collect us from the railway station after we rang from the free phone. The driver was friendly, as were the check-in staff at the reception desk. The room was nice and very quiet. We had a choice of meal in the bar, restaurant or room service. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of hot or cold food.”

“Nothing what so ever. £8 for possibly the worst sandwich I have ever seen. Beds are hard and squeaky. Stains in bath, carpet absolutely disgusting. Extremely overpriced considering the rating.”

“My room was freezing. The heating was not working. I telephoned reception after I couldn't bear it any more around 11pm, and spoke to a gentleman who said he would send someone. Eventually the maintenance man arrived, confirmed it wasn't working and brought a 'mini' plug in radiator (smaller than the size of the waste paper bin). No heat was radiating into the room at all and I spend a very very cold night in bed shivering. (The bed was so cold it felt damp). I complained at the front desk again the next morning and was given the cost of my breakfast off the bill. On checking out, I was asked if everything had been ok and I again said it hadn't, where upon, I was given a business card by the head reception girl and told if I wrote to her, she would forward it on to the correct person.”
