“This property exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful building and the staff was so kind. and thoughtful. We visited in mid-November and the staff was beginning to decorate for Christmas. They include all guests in their Christmas tradition of the yule lads, and even give you a small commemorative ornament as a gift. It was so thoughtful and truly a uniquw touch. Stykkishólmur had to be one of our favorite towns we visited too. It is really quaint and lovely, very good restaurants and community pools. Also, it is an easy walk to the lighthouse from Hotel Egilsen. The lighthouse has the most breathtaking views. We hiked up at dawn and then again at night and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. Seriously, this place is great. You won't regret staying here!”
“Firts of all, it’s a small hotel so we already managed our expectations even before checking in. Having said that, hotel egilsen is perfect! Super friendly staff who gave us the scoop on walter mitty. The rooms, even if small, were all smartly designed! Bed was comfortable, room was clean, bathroom was well designed, loccitane products all around! The town was very charming and wifi was everywhere. Our only regret was that we stayed for only one night. We can’t wait to go back!”
“Hotel Egilsen was one of our favourite stays during a 10 day trip to Iceland. Welcoming staff and a nice lobby to relax and read in - we were also greeted with complimentary drinks and snacks. The room was very cosy and comfortable. A couple of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk and a great view of the harbour. The breakfast was the best that we had during our trip - including fresh smoothies and scrambled eggs. Hope to visit again!”

Comfy beds, interesting, eclectic furniture, lovely modern bathroom with luxurious bath products. Warm, accommodating staff. Delicious breakfast. An absolute MUST-stay in Iceland!”
