What guests loved the most

“This hotel is a historical protected hotel - so due to this, there is little they can do with the property. It was clean and the staff were lovely. However, The beds were super uncomfortable and the noise from the bathroom was horrendous!!! There are fans in each bathroom that hot against the plastic making it sound like an engine roaring.......The rooms were very cold also - once the heaters were put on it was ok, but heat went as soon as they were turned off (this could be due to the old style windows though that sit in with the property). There could be alot done with the interior of this hotel to bring it up to scratch”

“Reception/bar staff was welcoming and helpful on arrival. The evening meal was very good and excellent value. There was a great atmosphere in the bar and the Guinness was top class. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with a nice view over the river. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Location is very central.”

“I have never stayed in this hotel before but I always wanted to. It has been booked out previously when I wanted to stay but I finally got to stay and I look forward to a return visit. You could hear the sound of the river in the early morning it was pleasant.”

“Lovely hotel with a fascinating history. Great location overlooking the beautiful river Blackwater. Staff very warm and professional. Bar food excellent, ditto breakfast. Room had a lovely view . Bed comfortable. Bathroom very small and needs upgrading. Would stay there again. Good value.”
