“Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Attentive staff. Freindly atmosphere in pub bar lots of locals. Nice selection of local whisky.”
“Spectacular hotel in a delightful village. Stayed 2 nights and the bar of the hotel is warm and inviting with a great selection of malts as you would expect. The evening meal was delicious but not fancy. My room was clean, warm and comfortable. I was late arriving back on my second night and they cheerfully opened the front door for me at 1.30 in the morning. Outstanding! Breakfast was really tasty.”
“We stayed two nights here. Our daughter especially liked the absence of wifi in the room, since she is sensitive to electromagnetic waves. Tomintoul is a nice, quiet little town. We liked our stay there with good value for money.”
“friendly people and location - we asked for hotels near Braemar and you said 17 miles away - it was 35 miles -limited single track roads with passing places - over one hour to Braemar instead of 20 minutes that we thought”
“We've stayed 3 times at Glen Avon. Its excellent value for money the bar meals are first class as is the breakfast choices. The bar also has a good selection of beers and a fine selection of whiskies.”
“location excellent, staff friendly, food good, atmosphere relaxed”
“The evening meal was very nice and the staff helpful”
“Great place to stay in the highlands to visit Balmoral and the multitude of distilleries in the area. Really pretty village, hotel does good food at reasonable prices, rooms are basic but clean.”
“Friendly welcome and good food. Great location in centre of village with lots of places to visit in area, especially good for visiting distilleries and there is a superb whisky shop on Main Street.”
“Right in the centre of the lovely little town of Tomintoul, which is surrounded by gorgeous moorlands.”
