“The king-sized bed was the best we had in our three-weeks journey. And there were two blankets, not just one (always a little bit too small). The staff maintained perfect, friendly, professional countenance when I (a man) turned up dressed as a woman. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated with fin de ciecle parisian type ornamentation; like the ones recorded in Owen Jones' "Grammar of Ornament." The hotel is adjacent to the Nietzsche Haus, where Nietzsche spent some of his lonely summers. Some of the rooms have direct view of this house.”

“Location is perfect, right in the village. Downstairs dining and sitting rooms are charming. Food is generally of very good quality. Staff is very pleasant, helpful, and efficient. Mattress on bed was comfortable. The free wifi and minibar were welcome amenities, as was the movable hairdryer--much easier to use than the ones fixed to the bathroom wall.”
