“Breakfast was epic, giving you a good chance to fill up for the day on sweet and savoury items. Dinner was a set three-course meal with three choices for each course. However, upon arriving late on our first evening and not having room for the full three courses, the staff obligingly provided a single course which was priced appropriately. Meals were all delicious and good value, but did not aim to be fine dining. The hotel was not busy when we visited in early April, and many guests did not stay for as long as we did (5 nights). It was perfect for relaxation, walking and visiting the spa, but this length of stay might be too long for those who want more stimulation/activities from their stay. Accommodation was comfortable and quiet due to being spread throughout the beautiful grounds. Some might say it was a little dated, but definitely held charm and character. Importantly, everything worked.”
