“This was a return visit to the town where i grew up as a pre teenage boy. over 50 years ago, so my views on this little town are (rose tinted) obviously !”

“Everything about the place,,,, the parking, the welcome from the woman at reception, the offer to carry my bags,,, the size of the room , the big bathroom,,, the food both at dinner and breakfast, the wifi,,,, It was spotlessly clean and everyone was so professional and yet welcoming in the old style tradition of hospitality. This hotel is obviously a local focal point and I felt I could have spent the day there drinking coffee and reading the paper. I love these long established traditional local hotels. It is ideally suited for visiting the historic sites and also suitable for stopping off on the journey to the West or North West. The building itself is stone and some interior walls were also exposed stone so it was interesting. There is a huge tapestry on the walls depicting local historical events. Everywhere was so, so clean the bar, the corridors and stairs. It really was top class and great value for money also.”

“The breakfast was average. No cereal, yoghurt or pastries, porridge or cooked breakfast only. Oil used to fry eggs was stale and bacon and sausage poor quality. Disappointing.”
