“The hotel doesn't look at all like on the pictures, it aged and dated. The breakfast was awful, no fresh juice, no real choice of bread and it was fight to find something to eat as it was not replenished quickly.”

“As a castle a somewhat 'special' property, but too much a business place to stay. For us as a family it was OK for one night during the week, but I wouldn't want to stay longer unless I have business to do there. The river is nice, but can be noisy (we had a room facing away from it, which was great, but we also heard form other guests that were less lucky). The park allows you to stretch your legs, but it's also kind of meh, because there was no service on the patios and while the park itself is well attended it's also kind of loveless.”
“We traveled from South Africa to Portugal, and then to Germany. We arrived at the hotel on foot from the train station at 1:30 AM. We were tired and hungry. The manager on duty and waiter whipped up a delicious meal for four people at 2:00 AM !!! They really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in every way. Throughout our stay all staff members made sure we had everything we needed. The front desk arranged a taxi to Hohenstadt for us everyday which helped a lot as there are no other means public transport. No taxi was prepared to take us to the train station on the day of departure. The friendly lady at reception then offered to let a staff member take us with the hotel station wagon, it was really appreciated as it is a tough walk with all the luggage ! The setting of the hotel honestly is like a fairytale !!”
