What guests loved the most

“The swimming pools The restaurant The staff The location The history in the architecture”

, New Zealand

“Fabulous place. Exceeded all expectations. Romantic, calm, historica, unique. Highly recommend. Not spoiled by chique of other overpriced 4 stars. Perfect for the weekend!”

, Portugal

“Exceptionaly overwhelming large nice as in the dreams and moreEngaging together the graceful past with the pleasure and comfort of the present”

, Israel

“This place is a dichotomy - with good and bad. The first thing to remember is that if you book an annex room you are NOT in the convent, the room does not have wifi, and you are shut out of the convent common areas until 8.00am when reception opens and the place is unlocked. They do mention most of this in the blurb. Other than that the place is excellent. Even annex rooms are good, Plenty of space and good furnishings. The setting is great. The pool is excellent and the pool area has wifi reception. And the restaurant is brilliant. best food in Portugal for us.”

, New Zealand

“The building is absolutely breathtaking, the views are great and the charming warmth of the staff is contagious. This is the perfect place to get away from the city and enjoy the best of alentejo with plenty of gastronomic and cultural activities to do in the surrounding areas.”

, United Kingdom

“This is an exceptional place in a beautiful countryside. The old convent building is amazing and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and restaurant. Friendly and very attentive personal.”

, Switzerland

“The convent is stunning and the onsite restaurant is fantastic. A great rural getaway! The onsite restaurant was fantastic. Best food I had in Portugal.”

, USA

“It was good to llearn the history and enjoy the peace and quiet.”

, New Zealand

“The location and the facilities were great. Very peaceful and the staff were good”

, Canada

“The bathroom was dirty when we arrived and I had to call the maid to clean it. Lethal bathroom, dreadfully slippery with no railings anywhere, not even in the bath where the shower is. My husband is not very mobile and has difficulty getting in and out of the tub with no grip. It also had a bad smell. The general facilities offered no help for people with limited mobility. no ramps, railings, nothing. Food was good but the restaurant is so understaffed that we waited an hour for dinner. Lighting in the room and bathroom very poor and nowhere really comfortable to sit and read a book. We wil not return although the place is very beautiful. Also, Booking.com quoted one price and we had to pay another. Not good.”
