“The restaurant & bar were good, the staff were very friendly & the service was ok. Limited menu but food was good. When busy, the staff were really pushed to cope at times.”
“The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The location is a beautiful village in the middle of rolling countryside. No traffic noise at night. The room was pleasant and comfortable. We lost our room key and came back at 11 pm when a very helpful member of staff let us into our room with good humour.”

“My room, although small, had a proper bath. Really important to me. Good quality toileteries. Breakfast was good, especially the sausage. However, I do object to the menu saying tomato and then only being given half. Similarly, Derbyshire oatcake meant a segment of one; accuracy needed here.”

“Great location facing the center of Hartington. Grand old building with some history, nice bar and dining area that suited the age of the building. Staff were friendly and plenty of parking to rear or in front of the hotel. Good value for the money paid.”

“It was ok, they did not like that we had booked through Booking.com. We felt hat they stuffed us in an extra small room at the top of the hotel because of this, nothing like the lovely rooms they have on their website! You also get breakfast included if you book direct but through here you have to pay £9.95 each and no room to negotiate”
