“The hotel is a soviet built luxury complex which is really worth seeing because of its splendid meeting and ball rooms and the architecture in general. Location is in a park, 10 min walk from the center of city, close to public transportation. Kind and helpful staff.”
“We had a nice clean room in the small building next to the main hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The complex is close to the city park.”
“The front desk staff were helpful. The food at the restaurant was good. The location was good.”
“Wow, what a great place. I stayed in the building that hosted the cosmonauts. So cool to stay in Such a fine example of faded Soviet glory. ”
“I loved staying in this Soviet hotel! It's a grand dame, now a little rough around the edges and less visited; however, it's still pleasant and a great value. I got a good night's sleep in the annex and had everything I needed, including a reasonable, if unexciting, breakfast. Some of the front desk attendants spoke some English, which is a luxury in KZ, so it was much appreciated. Overall, highly recommended for a value stay in an interesting spot and location, as long as you don't mind a bit of quirk and a slightly slower pace.”
“- interesting soviet-era building, - location of the hotel isn't central but easily accessible by public transport (it's a good option if you want to visit Karlag) - nice and helpful staff, explained in details how I could get to some places, - big, bright room (I got a better one than booked, a nice gesture), - breakfast was much better than expected, basing on some previous comments,”
“great value for money. very luxury building, friendly staff, nostalgic decoration with pictures of soviet cosmonauts... and amazingly they had a 24h policy, so we could use our room until evening when our nighttrain was leaving karaganda.”
“The best hotel I have ever been with its fascinating architecture, garden and history.”
“Интересное историческое здание, территория засажена деревьями.”
“Все понравилось. Особенно то, что это историческое место. Оно также связано с историей моей семьи. Замечательный завтрак.”
