“Good bed. Would have liked to have a couple of luggage racks instead of having to put our bags on the floor. Breakfast was good and staff was competent and nice. Need more towels and wash cloths in the bathroom.”
“This place is great. Quirky, old Florida historic inn that has been well maintained though not overly modernized. Wood floors throughout, and nice old furniture in the rooms ( new mattresses apparently: very comfortable!). It’s the kind of beachfront place that’s rare, if not unique, in Florida. The restaurant on the 3rd floor is cozy and pleasant. It has a limited but tasty dinner menu; we had beef sliders and baked Brie with bread and fruit, both good); the lunch menu seemed more extensive. The free breakfast in the lobby bar features fresh cooked eggs, bacon and potatoes, fresh juices, and English muffins. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And don’t forget: the inn is just steps from the ocean in a relatively uncrowded area. It has an outside courtyard on the ground floor, and an outdoor area of the rooftop bar. It is apparently a popular spot for weddings and events. This is not in an area I would find myself in very often, but I would definitely stay again.”
“Great comfort, history, lounge, views, overall great energy.”
“The hotel was very quaint and loved the historical aspect of it. It it is located next to the pier where you can take a lovely stroll on the beach. It would make a lovely venue for a wedding!”
“In town for GA/FL game and usually stay at Mayport NAS but there haven't been rooms available there for 6 months. Good looking hot breakfast although I only drank coffee. As far as location it is the best especially if you like the beach, clubs and restaurants. We didn't need to move our car for 2 days as once we came off the beach we could walk to wherever we needed to go. Speaking of clubs, there is one at the hotel and if you are a light sleeper, don't get rooms on the north end of the hotel. The club is there and it can get loud with the music and people coming up and down the stairs. Didn't bother us as we either were partying with them or by the time we were back in the room we were so exhausted a WWII beach invasion wouldn't have woken us up. Hotel is old but has a lot of character. Oh yeah, they ran out of wash cloths the last 2 days so be prepared to wash with your hands. Otherwise, great trip and great win for the Dawgs!!!”
“I loved this property. Right the beach. The area was very quiet and laid back. Overall it has a unique charm to it. I will stay here again when I return to Jacksonville Beach”
“Excellent location, friendly helpful staff and very comfy room!”
“This is a quirky little hotel that's a great value right on the ocean front”
“I loved my visit here: loved that it was an old historic building, loved the location to the beach, (literally a walk over the dunes on a wooden bridge) loved the staff, loved the room... big queen size bed, private bathroom, old charm... loved the old pictures on the wall of the history of the area and hotel It was just so charming.... i didn't rate the "bonus question" property style... charming and old wasn't up there! this is a fantastic place to get a way too.... This Caligirl loved it!”
“I loved the hotel. It is a historical hotel built in the 1920s. It is very unique and adorable.”
