“Thanks to booking.com, we booked our room three weeks in advance so we were the last guests of the season. Small room but very clean with an extra quilt which was welcome since the mild fall had turned cold. The owner lit the fireplace in the dining room for us after we had toured various walking trails and amazing beaches. The warmth of the fire thawed us out as we had our wine by the fire. The chef, John Howse, is a fabulous asset to the Lodge. He cooked for us, waited on us and the meal he prepared was five star!! Scallops with an amazing sauce and fresh vegetables cooked perfectly. We were able to chat with him during the meal a bit and he would be a big reason for us to return. The following morning he also prepared a fantastic breakfast with perfect coffee and tea!! “The bed was very comfortable. I was disappointed that there was no TV or telephone to the front desk. The WiFi was excellent. The food was very good at the restaurant. I enjoyed the village. The staff were accommodating. I requested a cup of tea one evening in the lounge. It was provided, but cold and just a bag in a small cup, for which I was charged over $2. There was soap which had been used, behind the shower curtain. At the price of the room, I was disappointed with that.”

“The location and views from the property were beautiful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The information from staff re hiking trails, roads etc was accurate. We enjoyed being able to play cards, watch TV and relax in the welcoming lounge. Loved having a small deck with chairs and picnic tables just outside our room.”
