“The location couldn't be more nautical: the heavy Westerschelde ship traffic seems to pass at arm's length. Of course this is why this venerable institution has always been here: as the Belgian Pilots' Society building, next door to the Dutch Pilots' Society. It's a well designed building from the 1950s with a spaceous dining room and comfortable rooms. All a bit sparse, in keeping with the building's aesthetics, but comfortable nonetheless. Generous breakfast, a very central location and gracious staff.”

“Great location in the centre of town and on the promenade. The restaurant and bar and some of the rooms look out on the sea/river and passing ships come close in at this point. The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk to a bus stop with services to the station and Middelburg and about half an hour's walk to the station and the ferry to Breskens, where there are buses to Bruges. Very friendly and helpful reception and they were very flexible about organizing an early breakfast. Pleasantly decorated, comfortable room with tea/coffee making facility, good wi-fi and good sized bathroom.”
