“I tried the tatami room this time just for fun. The room is smaller but very cousy. It’s winter in Beijing so the heating system is very hot in the room. I needed to left a window open for the night. Also the tatami rooms side of building has no lifts. Which isn’t showing such info on booking.com or I overlooked it? However the friendly staff helped me to bring the suitcase for checkin and checkout. The location is superb. One of key reason I always stay here.Sanlitun is the centre of night life and shoppings. Also tons good restaurants and bars near by. Great stay!”
“good hotel, staff dont speak much English but can manage.. they didn't return 160 RMB they took from my card with the hotel payment as deposit and by check out they said they will return to my card so hope they did..”
“Location, close to main subway station and restaurants”
“Some of the staff cycled me to the police station. The bed was large. They changed towels regularly. They provided the room with two bottles of water each day. The room had a TV. The location is close to malls, shops, restaurants, etc.”
“This is a very nice hotel located near to the Embassy district of Beijing and a 5 minute walk away from Sanlitun which is the shopping and nightlife area.”
“Really good location, near to metro, bus station and airport express station.”
“Very small but super cozy room. Staff has been very gentle with us. Nice location for the nigh-tlife.”
“Smelly, (cigarettes). very small room. Broken mosquito net on window. Heard other guests conversations. Carpets are ragged and hortibly stained”
“Good staff, very eager to please, although not all had perfect English they tried their best to communicate. Great location, interesting area, not as built up as much of Beijing is now, still some local character. Simple place that works very well, good access to subway and reasonable trip to airport, near Sanlitun but a more peaceful place to stay. Can find a variety of eating places nearby, both Chinese and western styles.”
“The next morning we were given another room, with a normal wooden floor. The disposition of the room was exactly the same, except from the carpet. We really liked it, and appreciated all the staff help. Even if they speak a little english they try their best to communicate with you and try to please you. Also, there was always somebody around (housekeeping) to ask them to change something in particular, and without asking towels were changed daily and the bed done every day. We really enjoyed our stay in Red Hotel since it is a cheaper option compared to other hotels in Beijing (even if it is still a bit overpriced, but this is China!). Would certainly come back!”
