“Small family run establishment. Slightly quirky but friendly. Excellent dinner. Good VfM.”
“Very kind girl watering our table. Spoke very good English. Helped us to understand the menu in French and was very helpful overall. Great rooms on the top floor. Best accommodation in Piolenc.”
“This hotel is hidden in a narrow alley. At a first glance you might wonder what you have booked. But when entering the facility a very charming small hotel with an exceptional helpful staff appears. The dinner was made to our liking with an accompanying good wine from the area. The breakfast was very good as well.”
“We arrived late in the evening and the owners prepared a very nice dinner which we enjoyed on the beautiful garden terrasse.”
“The food was fabulous, staff were all very helpful and friendly, dining in the shady courtyard was idyllic. The room was prepared with the aircon on just right to cool down after the journey.”
“This was the second time I have stayed here, and it was as good as the previous time. The property is tucked away up a narrow street, and is accordingly peaceful. I could not fault the accommodation or the meals. The staff were so helpful, and the breakfast was much better than the large hotel standard elsewhere. A victory for the small privately owned set-up!”
“We stayed here over 20 years ago with our then young family and we have fond memories of that stay. Pulling up at the hotel now was like winding the clock back - very little seems to have changed - it remains a pretty, old and somewhat quirky little hotel tucked away in the heart of the village and just off the main street. Vehicular access to the hotel is a bit tight as is the parking if there are other guests. The parking is however secure. There are still the same vine covered arches in front of the hotel where one can eat or take a drink - very pretty. The restaurant inside has an attractive arched ceiling and old stone walls. The bedrooms are old but of a decent size and comfortable.”
“This is a quirky property, the owners have put in a great deal of work. The food is amazing, and, the location for us brilliant.our last stop before we reach our pad on the costa brava. However if you want to explore the area, again, brilliant. Orange with all its Roman connections just down the road. Mornas with its fascinating castle just 10 mins away by car. Also Avignon and the popes residence only a short distance away. You could easily spend a week here ,but do not pretend to be on a diet. !!! As for wines amazing Cotes Du Rhones if you like that sort of thing. You can at Auberge eat outside or inside . This is our third trip there will be a fourth . If you are looking for somewhere unusual to stay this is the place .”
“Lovely setting, very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was good.”
“Our room was large and comfortable, not luxurious but we thought it deserved an extra star. It is a couple hundred meters from the surprisingly busy main road, up a narrow, awkward lane and there was no traffic noise. Very good value, an excellent place to break your journey. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and both were excellent.”
