What guests loved the most

“We liked the charming man (owner we presumed) who ran the hotel; serving at the bar and waiting at tables as well as checking us in - all done in a very calm and friendly way. The hotel had a very nice atmosphere as a result. I nearly forgot to say that we had the best meal of our trip in what was a surprisingly busy bar/restaurant on a cold Wednesday evening in November.”

“lovely hotel just a shame that we paid a higher price through booking.com than if we had gone direct”

“Lovely little hotel. The rooms were clean and newly furnished. Beautiful garden, terrace and nice little swimming pool. In the middle of pretty, quiet village.”

“Very friendly and lovely old building - nice wide comfy bed and super shower. . Sweet garden and pool and very good dinner. l . Great walks along the river for my dog”

“Great first stop off point on way to South of France and Spain.”

“We were greeted pleasantly by the staff. Our room at the back was fairly small, clean but only had a small window and was therefore a bit gloomy. It was a hot day and the air conditioning did not work. The bed was comfortable and the meal outside by the pool in the evening was very good with good value local wine.”

“In a lovely little village with amazing houses built right into the hillside. You can see it from the A20, which is what originally attracted us to the place. It suffered somewhat under the Nazi occupation, all is explained in English on plaques in the village. Take the time to walk down to the river, it is lovely, but be warned it is a very steep and hard climb back up! The proprietor is charming and so helpful and the building and rooms are so beautiful. It was great value for money, dinner was good, and breakfast also. The village had a famous son in the form of an eminent doctor called Dupuytren - Google "Dupuytren's contracture" if you want to know more about him.”
