“A friendly welcome, a comfortable room and a pleasant meal in a fairly quiet village. What was clearly originally an old coaching inn has been well brought up to modern standards. The main accommodation is round the courtyard, so if there was any amount of traffic passing the front door it wouldn't be heard (so I don't know whether there was any). The opportunity to eat in the courtyard would have been good if it had been as hot as last year but I chose to eat inside as it was a bit chilly this year.”
“This hotel was a real find, it was perfect, spotless, staff just lovely and welcoming, breakfast was superb. I was a very tired traveller and need a well deserved rest, they gave me a quiet room with a bath which was just the ticket for my weary bones. Would recommend that everyone travelling in this area visits this hotel, the setting is beautiful too, with a lovely courtyard inside”

“The property is in a good location and the rooms, although a little dated, are comfortable. There is a little restaurant attached to the property which is good as it means one does not have to travel out for dinner. The property is very pet friendly.”

“Quiet and picturesque location. Homey feeling and friendly staff. Very clean. We arrived a little early but the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed out of season so the restaurant is not always open. Check in case you plan on having dinner. Dinner was excellent. Great stop-over on your way south.”
