“Hotelli oli lähellä satamaa ja myös keskustaan oli lyhyt matka. Huone oli pieni ja siisti, parveke oli pieni ja näkymät olivat takapihalle, mutta kyseessä olikin säästömajoitus. Hintaan sisältyi aamiainen ja se oli perustasoa: kahvi tai tee, mehu, leipää, levitteitä, leikkeleitä, juustoa sekä keitettyjä kanamunia, mutta kyllä sillä maha täyttyi.”
