“Modern comfortable room. Bed was comfortable. Good location in town centre. Short walk from Kirkwall Travel Centre (bus station and tourist info office). Food was good but the lounge bar a bit of an uninspiring place to eat; but perhaps it was because it was fairly empty on the night I was there. The Bothy Bar was a good local "watering hole".”

“You're on Orkney so it's no surprise that you need to walk through the hotel to the bar to find someone - but when you find the young lady she is extremely helpful and nice. The room was our second fave of the whole trip - it had a tiny sitting room as well as table and TWO chairs near the window with power for all our devices. It was so comfortable - even quite grand, with a dazzling bathroom - we wanted to stay for a week!”

“The hotel is in the centre of Kirkwall and there is a car park very close by. The car park only allows stays of up to three hours, but you can park overnight and on Sundays without this restriction. If you're touring, like we were, and going to use your car throughout the day, then it's very convenient. We stayed in room 201, which had a bedroom with a separate seating area and a huge bathroom, with a shower and a bath. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The room was nicely heated on arrival - I hate it when you arrive at a hotel and the room is an icy wasteland! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was fine. There is a lot of choice with fresh fruit, pastries etc. which is commendable when you think everything has to be shipped from the mainland.”
