“Great assistance from the staff, who advised me as to visiting the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. I had let them know that I planned to wake early to do the Tre Cime walk and they let me know the next morning that it had snowed and might not be the best day to go. I went anyway to scout out the area and hiked from the park gate to the Rifugio Auronzo (the usual starting place for the walk). I decided to get up very early the next day (skipping breakfast) to do the walk before driving back down to Venice in the afternoon, so I settled up the evening before. They offered me a packet of sweets and fruit to eat on the walk, which turned out to be just the ticket, since I had skipped breakfast.”
