What guests loved the most
“The Abu Dagi Hotel is in a more industrial part of town - but it is a large building, and you can see it from the main road pretty clearly. It is also fairly close to the airport (if the roads are open!). The building has A/C during the summer, and the rooms have separate A/C units - summer in Makhachkala can be very warm and humid, so this is a definite plus. The rooms are nothing special, but are clean and roomy enough for two people and luggage. Another positive is the elevator - again, not common in most hotels in Makhachkala. The best part of the hotel is the staff - all were helpful, but English speakers will rejoice in Mohammed (Magomed), whos speaks great English and has travelled in the US and elsewhere. Strong English skills are a rarity in Dagestan - so he is definitely one to seek out if you aren't a Russian speaker....”
