What guests loved the most

“Great location near to city centre and its nice to stay in such a historic building, the rooms are quite large and spacious and the architecture is fantastic”

, Ireland

“The Abbaye was exactly as described, a basic (spacious) room with on suite, comfortable at a very reasonable price and in a superb location in the centre of a lovely town. We arrived late and couldn't get into our room but the caretaker was most helpful. All the staff were delightful, bearing in mind this is a heritage building, not a hotel.”

, United Kingdom

“The building is part of the old Abbey buildings and reminiscent of a French chateaux The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious, though spartan in creature comforts, the mixture of rock walls with plastered walls and views of pantile rooves was evocative. The village is really interesting and with plenty of bars / places to eat within 1 minute and 5 minutes of the accommodation (two central squares). Great for an evening stroll and possibly more. Nearby we bought really nice bread and cakes for our onward journey and there were some interesting shops too. Very convenient for the well used motorway too if you are travelling any great distances and need a refreshing stop. One of the bars nearby provides a wide range of 'guest' beers and wines.”

“Brilliant location 20m from the town centre. Very quirky accommodation but large enough and comfortable.”

, United Kingdom

“Very clean, beautifully quiet. An excellent night's sleep with no TV or wi-Fi available. Very easy to park the car. A variety of bars and restaurants. A very peaceful one night stay with a great sense of history.”

, United Kingdom

“Centre of town with history. Different. Good parking for my motorbike. No internet.”

, United Kingdom

“Very nice House and Sourroundings. Very good Restaurant in the Hotel Restaurant de la Place. Super food, -super price.”

, Denmark

“Completely different for us. The rooms are austere but in very good order and very clean. This was as exactly as expected as this is an Abbey and we really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic building. We saw no staff at all and access was via password on the outside door.”

, United Kingdom

“Exactly as we expected. Basic but clean. Lovely restaurant just around the corner”

, United Kingdom

“Excellent location, being just around the corner from the centre of the village. Very quiet, clean and I cant wait to return to explore the village. On this occasion I did not have very much time. These comments made in recognition that there are no eating facilities but a quick walk round the corner soon fixed that”
