“Fabulous historic hotel in centre of Santillana del Mar. In Nov the public parking which is only 100m from the hotel rear entrance was free, most of year that public parking is chargeable. Hotel has secure private carpark with enough spaces for more than half the rooms. Our room had a lovely balcony, complete with table and chairs, plus sofa and blanket ( it was Nov). Although coffee machine was a great idea (so rare in SPain) in practise it did not work very well. Reception staff spoke very good english. Smiley guy on breakfast was lovely, even remembered what we had ordered day before. Breakfasts are excellent with v good coffee and include eggs and bacon cooked to order as well all usual stuff on the buffet. Some rooms have double beds and some have twins -in our room due to bed frames they could not be made up as large double, so best to request what you want. Loved public areas with real log fires. We would definitely stay again.”
