“I would definitely stay here again, I think it has an amazing location and set-up. Very nice hotel, beautifully decorated, very comfortable, beautiful architecture throughout and amazing outdoor area! I liked that the hotel does stick to the rules, if towels on the floor, they will be exchanged, when on the hook, not!”

“Actually I think the hotel is not ready already from their repairing and remodeling but are charging for one . The employers are confused never know what the other said . When i was going to check out i tried to end totally the bills one day before causending the next day we were living early , then the next day came a lot of more bills that someone in the day before hadnt check and over and over it happens .The room was OK, but I think the toilette doesnt fit for so many people in the same room . Not comfortable as there was no window or a correct door.The lunch was ridiculous when the food came , so little food in the plate . We were in a family with kids and old ladies... French way time wasn't for that lunch and takes a long time . I could write a lot more . Probably was a wrong choice , cause we didnt know was a not a family friendly hotel. At the end was really unhappy in expending more than 10000 reais for 5 days and not enjoyed it .”

“The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable and nice. The atmosphere is very nice, there is a beautiful beach just across the street. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly (except the waiters at the breakfast, they were useless, so had to go to the kitchen to ask for hot meals - good that we knew Portuguese). The guy at the bar William was cool and very friendly, he makes fantastic caipirinha.”

“We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, and we end up choosing Gran Melia Nacional for it, could not be better, the Hotel itself is already amazing, a iconic build in Rio, staff is aways available to make the stay as best as possible. The rooms are perfect with a great view... The Hotel is beach front, and has a heated pool...we may be back in the next opportunity.”

“The views of the ocean and the mountains of Rio are stunning. I love the vintage pool, the good food and the friendly staff. Don’t miss the gym and the Clarins SPA! This iconic hotel was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, one of my favourite architects in the world. The hotel was closed for over 20 years and it just reopened in December. What an experience to stay in a listed monument completely refurbished!”

“Luxury place in regard to furnitures, the design, the pool, the accomodation at the pool and actually everything you can buy with money and which is imported from the origin countries where they produce this things. My facilities rating is especially so low because of the "no warm water" and "no working air conditioning" issue, this is a clear no go, even if you have super-luxury designer furnitures. The a la cart menu in the restaurant is very good for lunch and dinner. The interior bar has good drinks and especially gourmet tea. They have a Nespresso machine in the room. In two out of seven orders at the pool bar, the Caipirinha was really good. Room service was okay, compared to all other issues with this hotel worth to mention something which actually works, so do not expect any super great experience, it's just ok re the room service.”

“A vista é Maravilhosa, mais a praia em frente ao hotel é um pouco suja. Nem chegamos a usar a Praia, pois teve um tiroteio um dia antes da nossa chegada. Ficamos com medo.”
