“Great hotel. We got an upgrade to the suite, which includes a hot tub, private balcony and gorgeous view over town and the mountain. The bed was excellent, huge and comfortable. We had very quite nights. Everything in the room was very clean. Breakfast is standard (coffee, juice, fruits with yogurt, toasts, butter, jam and eggs) but the quality great! We had dinner in the restaurant twice and the food was very fresh and tasty. It's a bit outside of town but quiet and you're on the main square in 5-10min. Close to a reserve where you can go hiking. ”

“The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, gringo standards for a hotel of this type, but still very much Ecuadorian in decor, ambience, and clientele (vs. what you often find in Vilcabamba, where places of this caliber are so overwhelmed with foreigners that you forget you're in Ecuador. Great mix. Also rare to find in Ecuador are that the wet areas, steam room, jacuzzi, pool are super well maintained, in particular the steam room. They never are hot enough, but if you ask nicely at the front desk, they might indulge you and increase the steam and hot tub a few degrees if you go during the off hours (8:30 - 10am, dinner hour). This is also a great place or children, with a lovely park area, pool, etc. Lots of hikes walking distance from the park as well.”
