What guests loved the most

“The hosts really made the effort to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. This was helped along with a chance meeting of a tremendously friendly couple with whom I dined on my first night. Alex, aside from being a properly decent chap, was full of local knowledge and information on walks, day trips and sights to keep you busy. I can recommend the 10km walk to Mirepoix through rolling countryside, sunken lanes, lightly wooded trails and a farm or two. Mirepoix itself is a charming medieval town, just getting prepared for their annual apple festival when I was there, with the excellent 'Le Saint Maurice' restaurant in the main square. I'd originally intended to stay one night, but ended up staying three, I was that taken with this part of the south of France. Alex, Rachel and family, I wish you all the best!”

“We were made to feel at home by our hospitable host and hostess. Our room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable with crisp, white bed linen. In addition to the ample traditional French breakfast, we had a couple of evening meals at the Auberg, which we really enjoyed. Alex knows his wines and just as well we didn't have far to go to our room. The room had an excellent shower and there was a hairdryer. We would happily return.”

“Excellent hosts, very friendly and knowledgable about the area. Excellent food all, locally sourced and beautiful surroundings.”

“The Auberge has only recently been taken over and is still in a state of bringing in improvements. In addition they were preparing for a very large group so we didn't see it as another guest would so judgement is reserved. A visitor would have a good roof over their head, the possibility of a good meal and breakfast and would be close to historic sites.”

, United Kingdom

“Alex did a great job taking time to meet and talk with us. Olivia was very patient with our French which we really appreciated. The dinner was fantastic along with the wine pairing. I'm sorry we only scheduled one day here. So much more to see.”
