What guests loved the most

“Nice property, lovely views, good walking and running nearby, helpful staff and good location for a stopover between Paris and the south.”

, United Kingdom

“The atmosphere and the friendly staff who spoke English. The pool lounges and the pool were wonderful. The rooms had period furnishings and mostly maintained the intended charm.”

, Australia

“Air conditioning wasn't working and while the front desk knew about it , they couldn't care less”

, Ireland

“Architecture of the Chateau is stunning and it seems like the staff are trying to make the most of a lack of funding.”

, Australia

“THe magical mansion suprises you as you drive up the country lane. Inside the entry hall, the chandelier and black and white floor tiles delight. Staff is welcoming and helpful. The decor continues to impress as you go to the suite. Lovely details in decor make this a stand-out hotel. THe food was excellent, presented well, with an upscale approach.”

, Canada

“Helpful reception staff offered to collect our luggage from the car. Very useful as several steps up to main entrance.”

, United Kingdom

“Lovely view from our bedroom window. Excellent evening meal.”

, United Kingdom

“A perfect oasis which sadly we could only stay one night. A wonderful place to relax and recharge for a few days”

, United Kingdom

“This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. It has a Michelin rosette(in my 2015 book) but I wonder what Michelin's criteria are for a rosette. The cooking is good but not exceptional or particularly imaginative. It was, however, good value. The following night after this I stayed at another single Rosette establishment (also 2015 book)where the cooking was in a different universe albeit at a commensurate price. I hasten to say that there was nothing wrong with my dinner and the service was excellent.”

“The chateau is part of a developing estate that will in time become a hub of leisurely activity. At the moment there is however limited options. The chateau offers good sleeping, and the dining is ok (sometimes great, sometimes average). There is an ageing swimming pool that needs maintenance ( not a good sight in a 4* resort), and options for tennis and horse riding. Overall this is a good stopover for 1 or 2 nights on the way to somewhere else, but currently lacks pull factor as a destination of its own.”
