“It was a real mix. Great position and good car park. Great views across to church and old English charm. Some really nice spaces on the hotel to sit. Staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Twin Bedroom (for kids) was well decorated, clean and comfortable. BUT Superior Bedroom and ensure was shabby, tired and when we got in the floor had not been vacuumed. Breakfast was great. Overall disappointing as we would have given a great review but for the “superior” room quality. And really that is the most important thing to get right.”
“Such luxurious rooms for the money we paid. Most comfortable bed ever and long bath which was hot and lovely. We had our dinner there too- it was soooooooooooo delicious! Hot, fresh and a great choice of dishes offered. My mother, who came with me, said it was the best lamb ("Lamb Henry") that she had ever eaten- a great recommendation. I had the Haggis.......hot and REALLY GREAT! Delicious puddings too. The food alone would make this hotel A****, but on top of that are the super confortable rooms and extremely helpful and friendly staff. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WHEATSHEAF AND WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!”
“Old world charm of a country hotel. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and good view from the room of the village and surrounding hills.”
