“The rooms are nice and the location is perfect! In a quiet street of Thamel, just a few steps from the Garden of Dreams. Very convenient for exploring Kathmandu centre by foot!We came back To Portala Tourist Home in our second visit to the city. Ramesh, the hotel manager is a great person and very efficient. He can help you booking bus tickets, changing money, doing reservations in other cities, keeping your luggage while travelling to other places... Its really helpful to have a reliable person who knows how things work in Katmandu. In fact, we had problems going back from Pokhara to Kathmandu because roads were blocked due to heavy rain. We contacted him and he offered all he had to get us flight tickets. Best option for backpackers and people that don't have a fixed route in mind.”

“Ramesh is very helpful about any issue, for instance he got us a reasonable cab fare to the bus station. Reliable and trustworthy. There are very cheap fast food restaurants close to the hotel, we loved the Veg. Momos and the Veggie burgers. The hotel is very well located in Thamel, without too much noise from the street. We did not get dust or pollution in the property. Cute terraces, pleasant and safe overall environment.”
