“There are different classes of rooms, of course, but our room was spacious and the bathroom was luxurious in an old-fashioned, two-star way, which is the best way, we say, being people who prefer an untitivated hotel where you can experience an actual hotel. The staff were outstanding, with the capability of remembering your room number from day one though the hotel had more than forty rooms. All things considered, in our long series of travels this decade, I would be hard-pressed to name a better hotel. It is a highly experienced one and it shows.”

The staff were very helpful and the breakfast for 9 euro was one of the best we've had (fresh squeezed orange, brilliant coffee and bread and croissants fantastic). The hotel lacks an update but for the price and situation it's worth grabbing a room if you can.”

“Wonderful reception staff, and clever parking nearby in an old stable - kept the car cool. (We did not use the car in the centre, but walked everywhere - there are also handy buses) Good breakfast buffet in cool breakfast room. Easy walk to several cafés and two great restaurants on the square by the Victor Hugo statue. NB essential to book for the 1802 restaurant, even for lunch.”
