I'm a step above a backpacker-budget traveller, but I got an awesome rate on Booking.com for the dorm room, so I was thrilled about the value for the money. Darned comfy twin beds that got turned for me in the evening, squeaky clean bathroom (with shower and bath gels in handmade clay containers), nice wood floors, soft lighting, big common kitchen area (equipped only with a kettle, sink, and tea/coffee set). Didn't try the breakfast because it wasn't included in my discount rate, and it would have been five bucks - I'm cheap.”
“Loved everything about Hotel Brilliant it was the best place we stayed in all of Myanmar. Set in beautiful gardens. Comfortable, spacious rooms with good air con. The staff are all fantastic the service exceeds any 5-star hotel I've stayed at. They give you tea and fruit upon arrival and when you are out for dinner they open up your bed, clean up the room (again) and plug in the mosquitoe repeller. Brilliant!”
