“Staff were really lovely but definitely understaffed as seemed a little stressed at times. Open fires.”
“Frazzled eggs one person on duty long wait Not good, people complaining”
“Clean, warm, quiet and dog friendly. Not a ‘boutique’ hotel but excellent value for money. Friendly and good breakfast.”
“Lovely welcome nothing too much trouble. Good food”
“Cosy property and friendly staff in a wonderful location”
“Family owned and the owners and their staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Food was lovely (especially the pizza). Rooms were spotless and really nice and I loved the charm and character of the old inn. So close to the spectacular Middleham castle”
“Lovely friendly staff. Comfy, modest room. Beautiful little village.”
“This is a quirky old coaching inn, probably 400 years old, so if you like modern this is not for you! We really liked it. The stair cases wind up and down and it is easy to get lost! So what?! Its part of the fun! We had a twin room at the front at the top of the house. The beds were super comfy. Tea and coffee making facilities, a tv, average size bathroom with bath and shower over . There is no wardrobe, but the tenants have only been here a few months so am sure that will come. The breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked and not fatty, plus a good range of cereals and choice of toast. The race horses come past from about 6.30am but its all part of the local charm. There is no car park but you can park anywhere on the cobbles outside.”
“Service from Lucinda was outstanding, very polite & incredibly accommodating”
“Excellent breakfast. Lovely, helpful staff including the landlady. Very good accommodation for one night stay.”
